Pencil Drawings
These "writing" images were inspired by handwriting, the artist Cy Twombly, cave drawings, and our urge to make marks.
Notice where I've drawn, smudged, erased, and then drawn into the image again. I enjoy mixing something realistic with the magical and mysterious ability of drawing the impossible. Some of the images in my drawings -such as moons- also appear in my paintings. Sometimes the drawing inspires a painting, and vice versa. Movement in and out, over and under, and along the lines is important to keeping the drawing an active composition.
